Often you need to bring pro-res files into the TriCaster. The TriCaster DDR cannot playback prores files- but the import media command can convert pro-res files to the Quicktime files using the native TriCaster codec. The import media module can even detect an alpha channel and convert it the TriCaster codec that support alpha channel.
For this to work properly you must have QuickTime Player installed. QuickTime Player download.
If you already have QuickTime installed and for some reason prores files still won’t play- try installing the ProRes decoder for Windows. ProRes decoder link. (Keep in mind the latest version of QuickTime Player will automatically instal a pro-res decoder.)
Once you have QuickTime player installed you can use the import media module to import prores files and it will automatically transcode to native TriCaster QuickTime files.
