Have you ever wondered how to import professional custom graphics into your TriCaster to use as overlays? This process is rather simple. The first thing you will need to do, is make sure you have the TriCaster Codec downloaded and installed on your graphics computer. You can find this on the NewTek website under the “Support” tab. You can also use these links below for your appropriate OS.
After you have installed the codec you are ready to begin exporting your graphics. Once you have completed your graphic be sure to export it as a quicktime using the NewTek Speed HQ codec. Be sure you have set your exporting settings to RGB+Alpha. Otherwise your graphics will have a black background and will not overlay in your TriCaster. After all these conditions are met you can then import your file into TriCaster as usual.
One more way you can achieve this is to export using the ProRes 4:4:4:4 with alpha. Once you Import this into the TriCaster it will convert it to the Speed HQ codec. However these files will be rather large.
We hope this helps your productions and until next time good luck!
